Marina Restrictions Lifted

We're certain you've already heard the good news - Swansea Marina is back open to the public!

Following the recent updates on COVID-19 restrictions in Wales, Swansea Marina shared the following update:

Wales “Stay at home” restrictions will be replaced by a new interim “Stay Local” in Wales from Saturday 13th March 2021. Welsh Government say,

“The new stay local rule will mean people can leave their homes and travel within their local area – usually within 5 miles. Local outdoor sports facilities will also be opened.

The 5-mile rule of thumb will be set out in guidance – people living in some parts of Wales, especially rural areas, may need to travel further than 5 miles to access shops and other public services.”

Marina Pontoons – Local berth holders will be able to travel to the Marina therefore pontoons will re-open Saturday 13th March 2021.

Tawe Barrage Lock – The lock is currently closed due to our annual two week maintenance closure. Bad weather and storm damage that occurred on Wednesday this week has resulted in the project over running by one day. The Barrage lock will now re-open at 0700hrs on Tuesday 16th March 2021. When going to Sea, please sail local and not stay aboard overnight during this interim “Stay local” period.

Marina Boatyard – From Monday 15th March we will re-open the Boatyard and start working through the waiting list.

Marina Reception – A temporary reception desk that is Covid-19 secure will be opened tomorrow at the front doors of the building. This will be open between 8am – 6pm. 2021 Car Park Permits can be collected from here (Signed by contract holder).

Marina Shower Blocks – Toilets will be opened Saturday 13th March 2021.

Refuelling – Fuel berths will be available from Saturday 13th March 2021.

Staying On Board Overnight - from 27 March berth holders living within one household may stay on board overnight, key fob access will return to full access 24 hours a day.

Marina Berthing Fees – Like all previous National lockdowns during 2020 we will be extending all berthing contracts covering the period Sunday 20th December until and including Monday 15th March (86 days)

Stay Local changing to Travel within Wales – 27th March 2021

Berth Holders unable to Travel – Marina staff will continue to assist any berth holder who is unable to visit the Marina during this interim period. Please call us by phone, email or social media if you want your boat checked or need an electricity top – up

Lock operational hours – From Tuesday 16th March we will move to our Summer opening hours 0700hrs – 2200hrs every day.
